Make your own pearl necklace with knots between the beads.
To create spacing between the beads and secure them if the necklace one day breaks, it is recommended to make knots between the individual beads. Of course, it takes longer and a little exercise, but also often gives a more exclusive look to the necklace. In this excercise we will show you how to do it yourself.
Note! that there is a special tool for making knots, a so-called bead knotter, which can be of help to many, but that in the example here we use a cheap pinset.
All you need for this exercise is:
beading thread
tweezers
pearls
Note that jewelery fasteners for necklaces can be mounted in many different ways and that locking assembly is not covered in this guide.
Find a suitable bead wire, for example pearl silk 0.6 mm or polyester cord 0.5 mm, which can pass through the hole of the beads, but which is not too thin, so that the knots slip through.
Start by making a knot at one end of the string, then step on the first beads and then make a loop on the cord as shown below.

Take the tweezers and put the tip through the loop and grab the cord with the tip as close to the bead as possible.
Pull the cord so that the loop closes around the tip of the tweezers right down by the bead.
Make sure the knot comes as close to the bead as possible before pulling out the tweezers.
When the knot is tight, a new bead is threaded onto the cord and the procedure is repeated. If the necklace is long enough, it can be taken over the head and lock becomes redundant. In that case one simply closes the necklace with a few knots.
