Hoops with small gemstone beads
We used the following DIY materials to make these earrings:
1 pair of hoops, 20mm, gilded sterling silver
8 crimp beads, gold-plated sterling silver
18 various small gemstone beads, 3mm
18 headpins with 1.5mm plate, gold-plated sterling silver
You start by threading each gemstone on a headpin. Then you form an eyelet with windings over every bead (see our jewellery guide on how to make a loop over a bead or pearl).
Finally, you insert alternately a gemtone bead and a crimp bead into the hoop.
Earstuds with coral bead clusters
We used the following DIY materials to make these earrings:
1 pair of earstuds, brushed leaf with eyelet, gilded sterling-silver
12 headpins with 1.5mm plate, gold-plated sterling silver
4 jumprings, 4mm, gilded sterling silver
First, you thread each bead on a headpin, then you assemble the beads in jumprings When the cluster is done, you carefully open the eyelet of the earstud, insert the bead cluster and close the eyelet again. Earstuds with coin and pearls
We used the following DIY materials to make these earrings:
1 pair of earstuds with 4mm pad, gold-plated sterling silver
2 hammered coins with hole, 8mm, gold-plated sterling silver
various small freshwater pearls
2 headpins with 1.5mm plated, gold-plated sterling silver
approx. 30cm wire 0.4mm, gold-plated sterling silver
You thread the bead which is going to hang lowerst on a headpin and form an eyelet with windings (click here for instructions on how to make an eyelet). The gemstone links of the chain are connected with eyelets and windings as well. Please read our blog post Earrings with gemstone bead links for step-be-step instructions.
You finish the chain by forming a loop over the pearl which is going to hang highest and inserting the coin into the loop before making the windings.
Finally, you glue the earstud on the back of the coin.
Earstuds with rectangles, pearl and beads
We used the following DIY materials to make these earrings:
1 pair of earstuds with 4mm pad, gold-plated sterling silver
2 brushed rectangles, 12x6mm, gold-plated sterling silver
2 brushed rectangles, 8x4mm, gold-plated sterling silver
2 stk. ferskvandsperler
approx. 30cm wire 0.4mm, gold-plated sterling silver (approx. 5cm per bead)
Insert the small rectangle into the first loop before making the windings. The following beads and pearls are connected with the help of loops and windings. Please read our blog post Earrings with gemstone bead links for step-by-step instructions.
Insert the large rectangle into the last loop, before you make the windings.
Finally, you glue the earstud on the back of the large rectangle.
Earstuds with baroque pearls
We used the following DIY materials to make these earrings:
1 pair of earstuds with 6mm pad, gold-plated sterling silver
2 half-drilled freshwater pearls, 12x9mm
4 eyepins, 10x0.8mm, gold-plated sterling silver
You start by gluing the first eyepin into the large baroque pearl. Then you open the eyepin's eyelet carefully and insert the second eyelet. After that, you glue the second eyepin into half-drilled freshwater pearl. The two pearls are now connected.
Finally, you glue the earstud on the large baroque pearl. Instead of the earstuds with 6mm plate, you can use earstuds with 4mm cup.
Additionally, you can close the hole on the bottom of the pearl by gluing the top of a headpin with 1.5mm plate into the hole.
Hoops with cross
We used the following DIY materials to make these earrings:
1 pair of hinged hoops, 15mm, gilded sterling-silver
2 pendants, cross with eyelet and jumpring
Open the hoops and insert the cross pendants. Done.
Hoops with uneven pendant
We used the following DIY materials to make these earrings:
1 pair of hoops, 20mm, gilded sterling silver
2 uneven pendants, gold-plated silver
