DIY | Bracelet Sets for Men

In the following blog post, we show you how to make various men's/unisex bracelets with leather, magnetic clasps, chain and beads. There are endless possibilities - you just have to know the methods. Once you are familiar with them, you can assemble the bracelets according to your wishes and combine them to sets. In this way, you can create bracelets that fit you and your taste exactly. Of course, you have to adapt the lengths given in the examples individually.

You will learn how to make 9 different bracelets: One set consists of 4 bracelets with golden details, another set consists of 4 bracelets with silver details, while the last bracelet is a mix of brown shades.

Set consisting of 4 bracelets with golden details:

Leather Bracelet with Golden Studs

Set of 4 bracelets with golden details:

Flat leather bracelet with golden round studs.

We used the following components to make this bracelet:

Nappa cord with gilded studs, approx. 20cm

Lobster claw clasp. gilded steel

Ribbon crimp end, gilded brass

Jumprings, gilded brass

Chain-nose pliers

Take a pair of chain-nose or flat-nose pliers and press the ribbon crimp ends together at the ends of the leather cord. It is also a good idea to apply a bit of glue before you press the crimp ends together around the leather.

Open a jumpring, insert the lobster claw clasp and the eyelet of a ribbon crimp end ... and close the jumpring again. Fasten another jumpring at the other end of the bracelet.

Your bracelet is done.

Braided Leather Bracelet with Link

We used the following DIY components to make this bracelet:

Braided leather cord, approx. 20cm

Link, sun, gold-plated sterling silver

Leather cord, Ø 0.5mm, approx. 40cm

Leather cord, Ø 2mm, approx. 24 cm

Jewellery glue

Round-nose pliers

First, you take 12cm of the leather cord with a diameter of 2mm ... and glue it onto the inside of the flat braided leather cord - approx. 8mm away from the end. Let the glue dry for a few minutes.

After that, you glue the end of the thin leather cord with a diameter of 0.5mm across the 2mm cord ... and let the glue dry for a few minutes. Then you wind the 0.5mm cord approx. 12 times around the braided cord in order to cover the 2mm cord. Apply a bit of glue in between to fixate the windings.

Cut the excess cord and glue the end onto the inside of the braided cord. Then, you tie a knot with the end of the 2mm cord and apply a bit of glue on the knot.

Go through the same steps at the other end of the braided cord.

Use a pair of round-nose pliers to pierce through the centre of braided cord ... in order to make way for the 0.5mm leather cord. The distance between the holes in the braiding should match the length of the link.

Now you are going to use the 0.5mm cord again. Cut off approx. 10cm. Tie a knot around one of the link's eyelets, cut of the short end of the cord and apply a bit of glue on the knot.  Cut off another 10cm piece of thin leather cord and repeat the steps on the other side of the link. After that, you pull the two cord ends through the holes in the braided cord.

Cut off the ends - except for 1.5cm. Glue the remaining cord ends onto the inside of the bracelet ... and let the glue dry for serveral minutes.Your bracelet is done.

Square Braided Leather Bracelet Wrapped with (imitated) Suede

We used the following DIY components to make this bracelet:

Square braided leather cord, approx. 20cm

Magnetic clasp

Suede cord (imitation), approx. 20 cm

Jewellery glue

Glue the cord ends into the clasp parts - one after the other - and let the glue dry for 10 minutes.

Glue one end of the suede cord onto the inside of the square leather cord. Place the suede cord at an angle so you can hide the end by winding the cord around it.

Wind the cord around the braided leather approx. 10 times. Apply a bit of glue on the bottom of the bracelet to fixate the suede. The last winding should be a bit loose so you can push the end of the suede cord underneath it. Let the glue dry for several minutes.

Now, your bracelet is done.

Next to the braided leather, you glue in the flat leather cord ... and  the round thin leather cord next to the flat one. After that, you glue the suede cord under the thin round leather cord.

When the glue has dried, you glue all the black leather cords into the other clasp part - but not the blue suede cord.
