Jewelry parts with a slightly brushed and rustic surface are very modern, and are a good match for timeless jewelry design. In this entry we present a series of new and simple designs for necklaces as well as earrings, which you can create with jewelry parts from Smyks.com and for a very small price.
Earrings with teardrop and little ball.
For these earrings you’ll need the following materials:
1 pair of gilded sterling silver earwires
2pcs. gilded teardrops (or 2pcs. silver coated teardrops)
2pcs. 3mm gilded beads
2pcs. gilded headpins with 2mm ball
Feed the headpin through the teardrop and attach the beads before creating an eye. Because the teardrop is so big, there won’t be a lot of headpin left for the eye, but it should be able to make just one twist. Next, carefully open the eye of the earwires, attach the teardrop, then close it again. Your earrings are now finished.
Gilded necklace with teardrop and pearl.
For this necklace you’ll need the following materials:
1pc. gilded teardrop
1pc. gilded headpin with 2mm ball
1pc. approx. 3mm pearl
80 cm. gilded brass ball chain
First feed the headpin through the teardrop and the pearl before you make the eye. Because of the size of the teardrop, there’s not much space left to make an eye, but just enough for one twist. Next pull the ball chain through the eye of the pendant. Remember to make sure your eye is big enough for the chain to go through. When purchasing the ball chain, a connector bead is included.
Necklace with gunmetal teardrop.
For this necklace you’ll need the following materials:
1pc. gunmetal teardrop
1pc. black headpin with a 2mm plate
1pc. 3mm gilded bead
Approx. 80cm. 1.2mm faceted black steel ball chain
Use the same method as the one described above to create this necklace.
Necklace with 2 gilded teardrops.
For this necklace you’ll need the following materials:
2pcs. gilded teardrops
3pcs. 3mm gilded beads
approx. 20cm. 0.5mm gilded cobber wire
approx. 50cm 0.5mm gilded cable chain
3pcs. 4mm jumprings
1pc 5mm jumpring
1pc. gilded silver lobster claw clasp
Start out by creating an eye in the one end of the wire. Next add beads and teardrops in the following order: bead/teardrop/bead/teardrop/bead, then make a bead in the other end of the wire. Bend the wire so the teardrops create a V-shape. You use 2pcs. 4mm jumprings to attach the chain to the eyes of the wire. Install the lobster claw clasp by using a 4mm jumpring in one end of the chain, and a 5mm jumpring in the other. Additionally, you can add a chain extension, so you have the possibility of adjusting the length of the necklace.
Hoops with oval plate and wing.
For these earrings you’ll need the following materials:
1 pair of 20mm gilded sterling silver hoops
2pcs. oval gunmetal plates
2pcs. small wings in antique gilded brass
There’s no need for tools when making these earrings, just slide the hoops through the eyes of the pendants.
Earstuds with gilded wings:
For these earstuds you’ll need the following materials:
1 pair of gilded earstuds with a 3mm ball
2pcs. small gilded wings in antique gilded brass
You don’t need any tools to create these earstuds either. Just put the earstuds through the wing.
Earstuds with pointed teardrops.
Til disse ørestiks skal du bruge følgende materialer:
1 pair of gilded earstuds with a 3mm ball
4pcs. antiqued gold pointed teardrops
and jewelry adhesive
To make sure that the pieces stay in the desired position, they need to be glued together before they’re attached to the earring. Only a very small amount of glue is needed.
Fan shaped gunmetal earstuds.
For these earstuds you’ll need the following materials:
1 pair of gilded earstuds with a 3mm ball
2pcs. pointed gunmetal teardrops
2pcs. big gunmetal wings
2pcs. small gunmetal wings
and jewelry adhesive
You can create these earstuds the same way as the previous. Glue the three parts together into the shape you want and lastly attach them to the earstud.
Earstuds with jumpring and pointed teardrop pendants.
For these earrings you’ll need the following materials:
1 pair of gilded earstuds with flat pad
4pcs. antiqued gold pointed teardrops
2pcs. 6mm gilded brass jumprings
and jewelry adhesive
First you glue the earstud onto one of the pendants. The glue works better if the pad is sanded a little before application. Next attach the 2 pendants to each other with the jumpring.
Earwires with gunmetal pendants.
For these earrings you’ll need the following materials:
1 pair of 12cm oxidised sterling silver earwires with peg and eye
2pcs. pointed gunmetal teardrops
2pcs 4mm jumprings in dark steel
Just attach the pendant to the eye of the earwire with the jumpring to create these earwires.
We hope that these examples have inspired you, and that they have made you want to create your own unique jewelery by mixing the different shapes. Enjoy.
