DIY | Long necklaces with pendants

Make your own necklaces with symbols of the east. Smyks has several fine Buddha pendants, tassels in different colours and plenty of hand of Fatima pendants to protect you from evil. The hand can be found painted on walls, or as pendants and are widespread in the Middle East and North Africa.

Peridot necklace with green Agate Buddha

We have used the following materials for this necklace:

2 strands of 3x3mm peridot
1pc. Green agate buddha
1pc. gilded 5mm jump ring
80cm 0.38 wire

Malacite necklace with hand of Fatima

2 strands of 3mm malachite
1pc. gilded Hand of Fatima with crystals

Turquoise necklace with hand of Fatima

2 strands of 4mm turquoise

Celestial crystal necklace with ring and tassel

2 strands of 3x2mm yellow celestial crystal
1pc. twisted gilded 16mm silver ring
1pc. yellow tassel

You can choose to decorate your necklace with different stones. For this necklace we’ve used:

20pcs. gilded 2.5mm beads
6pcs. gilded 4x2mm crystal connector beads

On Smyks’ blog you can see different ways to create necklaces with, depending on whether you use wire or silk thread. Have in mind that a wire makes the necklace a little bit stiffer, which’ll do nicely with larger stones. If you choose small beads, it’s usually best to use silk thread.
