What is the difference between a creole earring and a hoop earring?

The terms creole earrings and hoop earrings are often used interchangeably to describe circular earrings. However, hoops usually refer to larger ring earrings that are typically made from a single piece of sturdy wire.

Creole earrings, on the other hand, are often smaller and may include a closure mechanism such as a backing similar to what you know from stud earrings. The most common type of creole earring is the hinged hoop, which we also offer in many sizes and designs here on the site.

For example, you can find creole earrings with zirconia stones or faceted details if you are looking for something with extra sparkle and decoration.

Decorate your hoop earrings with charms and small beads

Simple hoop earrings are perfect for DIY jewellery projects and can easily be customised with beads and charms to create completely unique designs.

You can decorate them with our beautiful enamel pendants and charms, which are lightweight and available in many colours and motifs. Most larger seed beads can also be threaded directly onto your hoop earrings to create a colourful and personalised look.

If you want to make beaded hoop earrings, you should keep in mind that this usually works best with a wire thickness of maximum 0.7 mm, due to the small hole size of most beads.
